King Jr., Sidney

Sidney King Jr., 89, of Pulaski, died early Thursday morning, March 13, 2008, in Pulaski Community Hospital.

He was born October 13, 1918, in Pulaski and was the son of the late Nannie Fagg King and Sidney King Sr. He was a former employee with Allied Chemical for 26 years, providing his welding and lead burning skills, and later retired from Alliant Technology Systems. He was a longtime member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, and enjoyed hunting and bluegrass music in his spare time.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Madeline Harless King. He is survived by one son, Ronald King and his wife, Gail, of Chesterfield; three daughters, Connie K. Barley and her husband, Ron, of Fredericksburg, Carol K. Hunt and her husband, Dennis, of Jamestown, N.C., and Debra K. Maher and her husband, James, of Potomac, Md.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held Saturday, March 15, 2008, in Thornspring Cemetery with the Rev. John Grimm officiating.
