Franklin, Mary Freeman

Mary Freeman Franklin, 89, of Radford, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2008, in Pulaski Health and Rehab.

She was a member of the West Radford Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Geoffrey Franklin Sr.; a son, Bobby; and granddaughter ,Tonya Hampton.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Janice M. and Don Akers, of Radford, Peggy and Frank Howard, of Check, and Diane and Tony Ferguson, of Pulaski; a daughter-in-law, Pat Franklin, of South Carolina; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Wayne Akers, Bill and Lisa Martin, Rob and Samantha Martin, Pam and Kevin Velat, Gary Akers, Ryan Franklin, Todd and Sharon Hughes, Alisha Ferguson and Andy Ferguson; eleven great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, William E. and Margaret Freeman, of Roanoke; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank Dr. Rick Williams and all the staff at Pulaski Health and Rehab and special thanks to Rosa Hall, Blanche Smith and Alma Holland.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, February 28, 2008, at the West Radford Church of God with the Rev. James Walker and the Rev. Arthur Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Burial Park in Radford.
