Adkins, Marvin Michael
Marvin Michael (Mike) Adkins, 57, of Dublin, peacefully passed away at his home Saturday, February 23, 2008, from a short illness with cancer.
He was born May 16, 1950, in Radford. His parents, Marvin Nelson and Doris Arnold Adkins, preceded him in death. Mike served in the United States Army. He enjoyed golf, NASCAR racing and spending time with his friends and family.
Surviving are his loyal and loving wife, Jackie Spradlin Adkins; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael Christopher (Chris) and Jacqueline (Jackie) Albert Adkins, of Dublin; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Becky Adkins, of Christiansburg; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Patty and Tony McGuyer, of Snowville, and Pam and Ronnie Humphries, of Salem; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to offer a very special thank you to the staff of Medi Home Health and Hospice, Pulaski, and a very special thank you to the employees at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center, for their excellent care and many acts of kindness and concern during Mike’s illness.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, January 25, 2008, at DeVilbiss Funeral Home, Radford. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2008, at New Dublin Presbyterian Church. Reverend Joan Browned and the Rev. Shahn Wilburn will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Graveside Rites by VFW Post 1184. Arrangements by DeVilbiss Funeral Home, Radford.
