Goodman, Julia Anne

Julia Anne Goodman, 65, of Lexington and formerly of Radford, Va., died on February 9, 2008. She was preceded in death by her father, J. Graham Goodman and a sister, Carolyn Goodman Norton.

She is survived by her mother, Dorcas Goodman; a sister, Martha Goodman Reynolds and her husband, Michael Reynolds, their children, Adele, Rebecca and Nicholas Reynolds; nephews, David Norton and wife, Cathy Norton, their children, Brandon, Jordan and Jessica Norton, Travis Norton and wife, Melissa Norton, their children, Hailee, Timmy and Chloe.

Julia Anne was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Radford, Va., where she served as church organist and choir director for twenty years. She received her Undergraduate degree from Radford College and completed Graduate degree from Northwestern University and Virginia Tech. She began her teaching career at Cave Spring High School, in Roanoke Co., and later taught math and computer science at Radford College and New River Community College. Julia Anne retired in 2003.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2008, at Timber Ridge Old Stone Presbyterian Church with Pastor’s Carl Moore and John McCandlish officiating. Friends and family may call anytime at the Goodman home. Memorials may be given to the Timber Ridge Church, Timber Ridge, the Christ Lutheran Church, Radford, Va., or Rockbridge Area Hospice.
