Orey, Junior Carson

Junior Carson Orey, 69 of Narrows went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 8th, 2006 at Carilion Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg.

Born in Bland, Virginia on March 22nd, 1936, he was the son of the late John Shuler Orey and Flossie Mae Patton Orey. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob Orey and Jimmy Orey; and three sisters, Hazel Perdue, Judy Buchanan, and Marie Albert.

He was a former employee of Richardson-Wayland Electric Company in Roanoke and was a faithful member of River Of Life Ministries.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Ruth Orey; four daughters, Patricia Riddle and husband Lawrence of Narrows, Kathy Meredith and husband Stephen of Pearisburg, Carol Orey of Narrows, Lisa Lawson and husband Gene of Fishersville; two brothers, David Orey and wife Katherine of Narrows, D.R. Orey and wife Brenda of Dublin; three sisters, Francis Monk and husband Charlie of Narrows, Betty Ann Harden of Ceres, Sandra White and husband Joe of Pulaski; seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 10th, 2006 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows with Pastor Terry Mays officiating. Burial will follow in the Shrader Family Cemetery in the Wolf Creek community of Giles County. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service Thursday from 6-8 PM.
