Duncan, Eva Silvers
Eva S. Duncan, 84, of Christiansburg, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 18, 2008, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. Eva was born on June 3, 1923, to the late Sidney and Lena Silvers, of Blacksburg.
A life-long resident of Montgomery County, “Eva Jane” retired from Virginia Polytechnic Institute after more than 25 years of dedicated service. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Woodrow Wilson Alls, of Blacksburg; brothers, Robert Silvers and Joseph Silvers, both of Christiansburg, and George and Leslie Silvers; and sisters, Billie Duncan, of Blacksburg, and Elizabeth Morrow, of Tucson, Arizona.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 34 years, James Ralph Duncan; loving son, Donnie Alls and wife, Loretta, of Blacksburg; grandchildren, Kristi Jones and husband, Gary, Kelli Adams and husband, Jim, Craig Alls and wife, Kim, and Chad Alls, great-grandchildren, Cameron Adams, Ashli Adams, and Lauren Alls; special nephews, Steven Cody Dickerson, of Blacksburg and Billy Silvers, of Christiansburg; sister-in-law, Yvonne Silvers; and life-long friend, Frankie Bowyer, both of Christiansburg.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 22, 2008, at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, Blacksburg.
