Gardner, Gracie Bowman

Gracie Bowman Gardner, 94, of Radford and formerly of Floyd, Va., passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2008.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Gardner, and her daughter, Nancy G. Stewart. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Junior Howard and MaryAnne Gardner, of Radford, Va.; one daughter and son-in-law, Lindell Gardner and Wilbert Hatcher, of Roanoke, Va.; two sisters, Sadie Bowman Blackburn, of Princeton, W.Va., and Freda Bowman Basham, of Roanoke, Va.; seven grandchildren, Frances Squires, W.W. Hatcher Jr., Jennifer Faircloth, Tim J. Gardner, Danny Gardner, Robbie Stewart, and Lori Sharp; and nine greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 21, 2008, at Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Mike Varner officiating. Interment will follow at Jacksonville Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, January 20, 2008, at Gardner Funeral Home after 2 p.m. where the family will be from 2 until 5 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Carilion Hospice Services of New River Valley, 707 Randolph Street, Suite 251, Radford, Va. 24141 and/or Skyline Manor Nursing Home, 237 Franklin Pike S.E., Floyd, Va. 24091.
