Young, Thomas Allen

Thomas Allen Young, 69, of Ripplemead, Va., departed this life Thursday morning, December 20, 2007 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Va.

Born in Giles County on October 4, 1938, he was a son of the late Robert Alec and Mary McGuire Young of Pembroke. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and had earned his living as a machinist before he was disabled.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Buddy Young. He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters and sons-in-law, Felicia and The Rev. Todd Kingrea, of Etowah, Tenn., Shelly and Jerry Williams, of Ripplemead, Pam and Hector Watson, of Chester, Pa.; a brother and sister-in-law, Barry and Bonnie Young, of Pembroke; a sister, Caroline Buchanan, of Pearisburg; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted Saturday morning, December 22, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg with The Rev. Todd Kingrea officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke Friday evening, December 21, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. and at other times at the home of his daughter, Shelly Williams, in Ripplemead.
