Haga, Hubert Shelburne

Hubert Shelburne Haga, 59, of 6027 Edgewood Drive, Dublin, passed away Monday, March 6, 2006 at the Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Born October 24, 1946 in Pulaski County, he was the son of Juanita Clova Lovern Haga and the late Hubert Brown Haga. He was a Vietnam veteran and a member of the 116th Infantry National Guard and was a forward observer of the 1st Calvary. He retired from the National Guard in 1988. He was retired from the Department of Motor Vehicles in 1998 with over 20 years of service.

Surviving are his wife, Brenda Walls Haga, Dublin; children , Robert David Haga, Dublin, Faye Akers, Christiansburg, Va., Larry Haga, Georgia ( U.S. Marine Corps), Martha Akers, Christiansburg, Va., Kathy Harless, Fairlawn, Va., Jim Haga, Narrows, Va.; 14 grandchildren; mother, Juanita Clova Lovern Haga, Dublin; brother , Danny Haga, Dublin.

A military funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with a U.S. Military Chaplain officiating. Interment will follow at the New Dublin Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Dublin with full military honors. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bobwhite Blvd., Pulaski. Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski is handling the arrangements for the family
