Malcolm, Anna Thompson

Anna Marie Thompson Malcolm, 89, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at her home in Pulaski, Va. She was a retired beautician and a member of Garden Baptist Church in Oakwood.

She was born July 25, 1918 in Coalwood, W.Va., the daughter of the late John and Geneva Russell Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold E. Malcolm Sr.; and a son, John Charles Malcolm.

Survivors include a daughter, Judith M. Barr, of Hiwassee; a son and daughter-in-law, Harold E. Jr. and Debbie Malcolm of Pulaski; four grandchildren, James E. Barr Jr., Jon E. Barr and his wife, Annie, Harold E. Malcolm III and his wife, Brandy, and Joshua Lance Malcolm; a greatgranddaughter, Kennedy Brooke Malcolm; a special cousin, Mary Daily of Sevierville, Tenn.; and three special friends, Carolyn Lambert, Marie Hedge and Edna Coleman.

A graveside service will be held Friday, December 21, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Claypool Hill with the Rev. Ancil Childress officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 until 2 p.m. at the mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Garden Baptist Church, P.O. Box 840, Oakwood, Va. 24631 or the Rowe Pentecostal Church, P.O. Box 32, Rowe, Va. 24646.
