Widrig, Reagan Brynn
Reagan Brynn Widrig, 9 yrs. old, of Christiansburg, Va. finished his life here on earth and went to be with the Lord on June 1, 2014. Reagan’s parents are Chris and Cathy Widrig of Christiansburg.
Reagan was the fourth born of five children. He was named after the “Great Communicator”. Although he could not speak he communicated in every way. He was pure love, so gentle and full of joy when he played with his toys that had lights and music. Reagan was absolutely loved and adored by his four siblings Jordan Widrig, Savannah Widrig, Tristian Widrig, and Micaiah Widrig. He will always be a part of them and they will never forget all the memories that they shared. He will forever be our little President. Reagan’s maternal grandparents are Jerry and Etta Conley of Narrows, Va., paternal grandparents are Jerry and Tina Widrig of Panama City, Fla., and Jan Lafon of Blacksburg, Va. They shared many memories with Reagan that will never be forgotten. Reagan had a very special aunt, Lisa Conley Tyree of Narrows, Va. She loved him without measure and would do anything for him that he needed. Another special aunt is Claudine Thompson of Morganton, NC. Also, special uncle and aunt, Scott and Annette Widrig of Pembroke, Va. and uncle B.J. Lafon of Blacksburg, Va. A very special friend of Reagan’s, Regina Smith of Newport, Va, has touched our lives in so many ways. She helped take care of Reagan on many occasions. He loved her so much as she did him. There are so many great aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that were a big part of our lives and Reagan’s. Reagan attended school at Belview Elementary where he was touched by so many and taught so many. His team loved and cared for him and never gave up on him. Their encouragement and love helped him accomplish things that we never thought he would be able to do. Special thanks to Jean Cochran and Thelma Harrison for taking such good care of him there. Reagan attended the Radford Church of Christ. He had so much love and support from everyone there. He also had many loved ones from area congregations as well, west side Church of Christ, Salem, Va., Christiansburg, Pulaski and Pearisburg Church of Christ. Reagan will never be forgotten. He taught us so much about living in his short life…he taught us to never give up, to be strong and courageous, to love more, enjoy the little things, and to be content in whatever state we are in Phillipians 4:11. We miss you so, so much and we look forward to being reunited with you again in God’s Kingdom. WE LOVE YOU! Momma, Daddy and “The President’s Cabinet”. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 6, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Mr. John Croft and Mr. Rudolph Shelburne officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
