Hall Jr., John Wesley
John Wesley Hall, Jr., 67, of Snowville, Va., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 19, 2007 while being treated for Multiple Myelotna at Wake Forest Medical Center.
A native to the Snowville/ Hiwassee area where he built a friendship and respect from local residents and businesses in the surrounding area. A devoted husband, father and “Paw Paw.”
He is survived by his wife and very best friend, Barbara Morris Hall; eight loving children; sixteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Three sons, Keith Hall and daughter-in-law, Simin Hall; granddaughter, Meghan Hall; grandson, Bryan Hall of Kernersville, N.C.; son, Johnny Rhea Hall and daughter-in-law, Ellen Hall; grandsons, Harrison and Peyton Hall of Aldie, Va.; and granddaughters, Tiffany and Cali Hall of Hillsville, Va.; son, Mark Hall and daughter-inlaw, Kim Hall; granddaughters, Emma and Anna Hail of Snowville, Va.; daughters, Melissah Hall of Radford, Va.; daughter, Deborah Pace and son-in-law, Patrick Pace; and granddaughter ,Rebecca Sikes; grandchildren, Alden, Tyler and Olivia of Orlando, Fla.; grandson, Justin Pace of Orlando, Fla.; daughter, Johnna Hall of Blacksburg, Va.; granddaughter, Ashley Burks of Charlotte, N.C.; daughter, Jonie Hall Smith; grandsons, Wes and Conrad Smith of Snowville, Va.; daughter, Christian Hall Carpenter and son-in-law, Bryan Carpenter; granddaughters, Madison, Bailey and Sydney Carpenter of Midlothian, Va. He is preceded in death by two sons, Wesley Ernest Hall and Gregory Lang Hall; his parents, John Wesley Hall , Sr., and Lattie Dishon Hall.
John retired from United Parcel Service in 1995 after 30 years of service. After retirement his hobby became a business of producing beef cattle with cow and calf herds. The enjoyment he received far measured the work he endured. He was a life long member of Cecil’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Snowville.
In lieu of flowers, we request that donations be made to The John W. Hall, Jr. Memorial Fund, c/o Pulaski Community Hospital, 2404 Lee Highway, Pulaski, Va. 24301, Attention: Mark Radar. The monies will be used to purchase new medical equipment that John hoped would provide life-saving, comfort and help to the patient and doctor.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kenneth Pendergrast, his staff, Outpatient and B-Wing nurses of Pulaski Community Hospital.
Pastor Bryan Wyke and friend of the family, Charlie Henderson, will officiate funeral services. Visitation with family and friends will he held to celebrate his life at Stevens Funeral Home in Pulaski, Va. Friday, November 23, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at the Hall Cemetery in Snowville located at 6219 Little River Dam Road immediately following the service. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, Va.
