Murphy, Ronald Thomas

Ronald (Ronnie) Thomas Murphy, 42, of Dublin, Va., passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2007. Born October 15, 1965 in Radford, Va., he is the son of Thomas Ray Murphy and the late Linda Lewis Edwards.

His grandmothers, Stella Farmer Murphy and Lucille Elkins Lewis and many aunts and uncles also preceded him in death.

He was a graduate of Pulaski County High School in 1984 and graduated from James Madison University in 1989. He was an assistant manager with Long John Silver’s with 12 years of service. He was also well known for his work in outpatient surgery at the Carilion New River Valley Medical Center.

Surviving are his father and stepmother, Thomas Ray and Nancy Jean Murphy of Roanoke, Va.; sisters, Janet Murphy and partner, Sharon Murphy, of Pulaski, Va. and Melissa Davis Fobare and husband, Philip, of Salem, Va.; brothers, William Jeffrey Davis of Boones Mill, Va. and James Ray Davis and wife, Laura, of Roanoke, Va.; nieces and nephews , Jeremy T. Louderback, Adison L. Louderback, Olivia Joy Fobare, Charity Fobare, Chyenne Sweeney and Austin Sweeney; and dear friend, Geneva Holt.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 16, 2007 at the First Church of the Brethren, 1749 Newbern Road, Pulaski, Va. with the Rev. Ted Turner, the Rev. David Shumate and the Rev. Kelly Sisson officiating. Interment will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery, Pulaski, Va.
