Surface, Pansy Sheppard

Pansy Sheppard Surface, 84, of Blacksburg, died Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at Montgomery Regional Hospital.

She was born in Pulaski County on October 12, 1921 to the late Byrd Franklin and Mary Long Sheppard, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Marvin McCauley Surface; and one sister, Ruby Holliday; and a brother, Byrd F. Sheppard, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Georgia E. Surface, Blacksburg; her brother, Robert O. Sheppard, Prices Fork; and also several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 2, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Hurd officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg.

Flowers will be appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to the Blacksburg Rescue Squad, 200 Progress Street, Blacksburg, Va. 24060. Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Wednesday, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
