Parks, Alice Faye Sheffey

Alice Faye Sheffey Parks, 69, of Dublin, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2007 at her home. Born July 28, 1938 in Wythe County, she was the daughter of the late Hancel Hubert Sheffey and Elsie Groseclose Sheffey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, George E. Shaw and sister-in-laws, Betty Roope Sheffey, Mary Gay Patton Sheffey and Eleanor Aker Sheffey. She was a member of the Dublin United Methodist Church and retired from Volvo with 30 years of service.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Denise Renee’ and Timothy B. Sneeringer of Scott Depot, W.Va.; grandchildren, David Jonah Sneeringer, Simon Timothy Sneeringer and Rachel Isabella Sneeringer; sister, Margaret Ellen Sheffey Shaw of Radford; brothers and sister-in-law, Donald Hancel and Dorothy Sheffey of Dublin, Robert Sawyer Sheffey of Raeford, N.C., Frank Lee Sheffey of Wythe County and David Thomas Sheffey of Chesapeake; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carol and Rene Guionnaud of Chattanooga, Tenn. and father-in-law, Marvin M. Glass of Chattanooga, Tenn.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday at the Dublin United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Rowland officiating. Entombment will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Dublin.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday evening at the Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bobwhite Blvd., Pulaski. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory may be sent to the New River Valley Cancer Care Center, 2400 Lee Highway, Pulaski, Va., 24301.
