Eaton, Lewis Gerald

Lewis Gerald Eaton, 85, of Staffordsville, Va. went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 from the Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

He was born February 8, 1922 in Giles County, Va., the son of the late Clyde and Sally Ball Eaton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Sadler Eaton. He was a Army Veteran of World War II, a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and Wabash Lodge #189 IOOF.

He is survived by his daughter, Mary E. Anderson of Staffordsville; one brother, Joe (Bill) Eaton of Highland Ridge Rehab Center, Dublin; one sister, Mary Poff Wallace of Little Rock, Ark.; one half sister, Anna Sue (Van) Davis of Salem; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 26, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church with Pastor Cecil Albano, Pastor Allen Bouldin and Charles Henderson officiating. Graveside rites by Wabash Lodge #189 IOOF at Birchlawn Burial Park, Pearisburg.

The visitation will be Thursday, October 25, 2007 at the Pleasant Hill Church from 6 to 8 p.m. Arrangements by A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home.
