Cecil Martin Dalton, 89, of New River, passed away at Wheatland Hills Nursing Home on Friday, May 16, 2014. Cecil was born on Jan 12, 1925, to the late Oakley F. and Oma Akers Dalton. Cecil, known fondly by friends and family as “Mo”, was an employee of Burlington Mills in Radford and worked as a loom fixer for 42 years.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, of 63 years, Pauline Nolley; brothers, Willie and Sidney Dalton; a sister, Treva Loving; and a step-son, Harold Hornbarger.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Ilectris Linkus and Goldie (Buddy) Sutton; a daughter, Vickie (Richard) Brillheart; a son, David (Brenda) Dalton; daughter-in-law, Lois Hornbarger; and many special grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom referred to him lovingly as “Pappy”.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 19, 2014, from 6-8p.m. at DeVilbiss Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Morgan’s Chapel United Methodist Church in New River with the Rev. Darlene Marshall officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin.
