Mahaffey, Lois Juanita Lucas

Lois Juanita Lucas Mahaffey, 88, of Pearisburg, departed this life Monday evening, May 12, 2014 at Kroontje Health Care Center in Blacksburg after a long illness. Born at Kimballton in Giles County on May 28, 1925, she was a daughter of the late John William and Mary Lillian Tawney Lucas.

She served as the court clerk for the Giles County General District Court for over 35 years, was a graduate (1942) of Pembroke High School, was a member of Pearisburg Baptist Church, a volunteer with the Giles Memorial Hospital Auxillary, and taught Sunday School for many years.

She was preceded in death by her son Gregory Sherwood Mahaffey, her daughter Janice Litricia Mahaffey Mitchell Kendrick, and her brother Winfred Russell Lucas.

She leaves to cherish her memory her grandson Michael Charles Mitchell, Jr. of Florida, her granddaughter Erin Elizabeth Mahaffey of Wytheville, and her daughter-in-law Virginia Repass Mahaffey.

Funeral arrangements are being made with the Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke, VA.
