McPeak, Christine Fairchild

Christine Fairchild McPeak, 83, of Pulaski, Va., died on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 in the Lewis-Gale Medical Center, Salem.

She was born in Bluefield, W.Va. on May 6, 1924 and was the daughter of the late Atley Theodore Fairchild and Mildred Carlile Fairchild. Mrs. McPeak was a retired employee of the Pulaski County Treasurer’s Office and a member of the Trinity Baptist Church, Pulaski.

Surviving are her husband of 60 years, George Rudy McPeak of Pulaski; sons and daughter-in-law, Terry S. McPeak of Pulaski, Richard L. McPeak of Dublin, and David K. and Shawn McPeak of Jacksonville, N.C.; sister, Verda Maxine Turman of Pulaski; brothers and sister-in-law, Lee Stump of Las Vegas, Nev. and Leroy and Sherry Dancy of Wilkesboro, N.C.; six grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2007 at 2 p.m. from the Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Garland and the Rev. Johnny Howlett officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visiting will be held on Saturday evening, October 6, 2007 at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, Va.
