Cummins, David Paul (D.P.)

David Paul (D.P.) Cummins, age 58, of Pulaski, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, Va., following a brief illness. He was born in Flint, Michigan and was the son of Claude and Bobbye Jean Fugate Cummins of Pulaski. He was a class of 1974 graduate of Tazewell High School. Mr. Cummins was an employee of Volvo Corporation of Dublin and had lived in the Pulaski area for 20 years. He was a member of U.A.W of Dublin. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Trinny Arms Cummins; two daughters, Macella Ball and husband, Gary of Cedar Bluff, Va., Shianne Cummins of Pulaski, Va.; two sons, David Cummins Jr. and wife, Staci of Pulaski, Elijah Cummins of Pulaski; two brothers, Michael Larry Cummins and wife, Trish of Amonate, Va., Robert Cummins and wife, Kelly of Floyd, Va.; four grandchildren, Makayla Cummins, Molly Ball, Devin Allen and Coty Allen; one great-grandchild, Gary Ray Blevins; also surviving is a host of family and friends.

Funeral services for David Paul “D.P.” Cummins will be conducted Friday, May 2, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Lawrence Hayes officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be: Bobby Mitchell, Matthew Shawn Vance, Tristen Brewster, Keimer Ball, Phillip Long, Rusty Calhoun, Kenneth Newberry, Keith Newberry, Jalin Dye. The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Thursday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.
