Crawford, Peggy Louise
Peggy Louise Smith Crawford,70, of Blacksburg, Virginia passed peacefully, in Asheboro, NC April 23th 2014. Peggy is the daughter of the late Margie Blakeslee and Morgan Smith. Peggy is survived by her sons, Chris and James Crawford, their spouses, Rosi and Megan Crawford and grandchildren, Michael, Alexandra and William. She is also survived by the love of her life of 25 years, Lee Wolfle.
Peggy loved embroidery and quilting and was very talented in both. Peggy’s love for Brazilian Dimensional Embroidery lead to the creation of her company “Flower Garden Designs”, where Peggy created, marketed, and sold original BDE designs, Peggy’s enthusiasm for BDE and needle arts in general was well known to the many students that she taught through various seminars and classes over the years. Peggy published her first and only book in 1992. “Stitching the Wild Flowers of Virginia” It was a great accomplishment for her and was well received by her peers. When not stitching, Peggy loved traveling with Lee, all flowers, planting fairy gardens, and feeding her squirrels, as well as the occasional ground hog in her back yard,
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Services will be held Monday, April 28, 2014 at 11:00 am in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel, Blacksburg. Donations may be sent to Randolph Hospice House, 446 Vision Dr, Asheboro, NC 27203.
