McClaugherty, Kathy Green
Kathy Marie Green McClaugherty, age 74, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. Born May 3, 1951, in Pearisburg, VA, she was the daughter of the late Vivian Cecil Green and Betty Marie Price Green.
Kathy was a generous woman who spent her whole life caring deeply for her family. She could often be seen walking around the town of Rich Creek, chatting with everyone she knew as she passed by. Kathy always had something to say about anything and loved to talk people’s ears off. She kept herself busy caring for her loved ones, watching her favorite soap operas, watching birds fly past her window, and window shopping for gifts. She will be missed immensely by all those she left behind, and her legacy is one of passion and loud, joyous laughter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie McClaugherty; one brother, Russell Green; and one daughter in law, Sara Quesenberry.
Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Christopher McClaugherty of Peterstown, WV; three daughters, Stacy Wilson (Brian) of Peterstown, WV, Heather McClaugherty of Radford, VA, and Crystal McClaugherty (Johnny Wilson) of Lindside, WV; two brothers, Mark Anthony Green of Rich Creek, VA, and Jeffery Green (Estella) of Pearisburg, VA; one sister, Linda Carr (Eddie) of Pearisburg, VA; grandchildren, Savanah Wilson, Victoria Wilson (Anthony Meadows), Keira Wickline (Justin Frazier), Christopher McClaugherty, Keiran McClaugherty, and Lilly McClaugherty; great granddaughter, Ava Atkins; her long-time fiancé, Curtis Gadd; and nephews, Jay Green and Christina Green.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00PM on Friday, May 16, 2025, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Ricky Green officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00PM until time of services on Friday at the funeral home.
