Long, Sue St. Clair
Sue Carol St. Clair Long, 93, of Pearisburg, VA., went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 7, 2024. Sue was born on February 28, 1931, in Giles County, VA and was a daughter of the late William Cecil St. Clair and Nannie Belle St. Clair.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, James A. Long, brothers, Buck St. Clair, Bud St. Clair (Liz), Peyton St. Clair (Marylee) and sisters, Lura Robertson (Woodrum) Robertson, Russelle Atkins (Jack), Dorothy Moore (Johnny), June Conklin (Dorsey), Betsy Lee and Mary Howe Whitt (Ray).
Sue was a graduate of the Pearisburg High School (Red Devils). She loved bowling, bingo, ceramics, camping, gardening and cooking and canning for family and friends. She loved spending time with family and all of the grandbabies.
Left to cherish her memory, 1 son, James Bryan Long of Pearisburg, three daughters, Pam & Brian Tate of Pearisburg, Carolyn & Ralph Kidd of Abington, Rea Schmidt of Sarasota, Fl, six grandchildren, Ashley Snider (Derek), Logan Tate (Meaghan), Tyler Kidd (Margaret), Troy Kidd (Carey), Caty Kidd, Cody Schmidt and 10 great grandchildren, Kylee, Owen & up coming, baby Snider Laighton, Tucker and Parker Tate, Maddox and Pierce Woodyard, Max & Grant Kidd and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 10, 2024, at 1pm at the Givens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gary Poff officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 hour before the service from 12 – 1pm. Special thanks to the staff in the memory unit at Heritage Hall in Rich Creek, VA.
