Jennelle, Linda Carter

Linda Cary Carter Jennelle, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 26, 2024, in the care of Heritage Hall Rich Creek. Born on August 20, 1939, in Eggleston, Virginia, she was the beloved daughter of the late Wade H. Carter and Beulah Perdue.

Linda was married to Robert (Bobby) Jennelle, with whom she shared a 40-year marriage until his passing. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Richardson; brother-in-law, John Wayne Jennelle; sister-in-law, Bebe McCroskey; and nieces Teresa Marolf and Tina Sangster.

Linda’s legacy is carried on by her loving family, including her son, Tim Jennelle and his wife Debbie, her daughter, Lisa Mullins and her husband Jeff; her adored grandchildren, Josh Jennelle (Elizabeth), Kara Armes (Dylan), and Andrew Mullins; her great-grandchildren, Tyler, Dylan, Emily Jennelle, and Cameron and Skylar Mullins. Linda’s special cat, Priss, was a constant companion and source of joy in her later years.

Throughout her career, Linda held many positions in the medical field which included Lab Tech at Giles Memorial Hospital, X-ray Tech at both Giles Memorial Hospital and Princeton Community hospital, as well as office and medical assistant for Drs. McGuire, Cecil, and Raub. She finished out her career doing insurance physicals for Portamedic.

Linda was a woman of faith and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pearisburg, Virginia. Her interests included flower gardening, crafts, baking, and decorating her home located in the quiet subdivision of Fairview Acres near Pearisburg, Virginia. Above all, Linda cherished her role as “Maw- Maw” and “Nanny.”

Her family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Hall Rich Creek for the care and compassion she received during her time there. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her beloved husband and other family members who have gone before her. Linda’s love will forever shine in the hearts of those she touched. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

The family will receive friends in a time of visitation on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 1:00 PM in Birchlawn Burial Park with Pastor Gary Poff officiating, where she will be laid to rest.
