Miller, Muriel Shaver
Muriel Mae Miller, age 94, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at her home in Peterstown, WV surrounded by loved ones. Born August 14, 1929, in Narrows, VA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Preston and Lacey Snow Wilkerson Shaver.
Muriel worked at Celanese as a young girl and later in life at Carney’s Super Aid in Rich Creek, VA. She was involved with the WV Council on Aging in implementing the Monroe Mobile unit. She was a long-time member of the Worldwide Church of God and attended the Wikel Community Baptist Church. She lived as an example of her faith to every person she met. She loved to quilt, crochet, embroider, paint, read and fuss over her houseplants.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wade McClure “Mack” Miller; son, Ronald David Miller; four sisters, Bernice Burns, Peggy Stowers, Beulah Shaver, and Alta Christian; and five brothers, Samuel Preston Shaver, Jr, Charles Watson (“WC”) Shaver, Donald Lee Shaver, Basil Shaver and her infant twin, Morrell Shaver.
Those left to cherish Muriel’s memory include a son, Keith Miller of Atlanta, GA; two daughters, Debra Weikle and husband Dean of Peterstown, WV, and Sarah Coy and husband Gary of Princeton, WV; special niece, Carol Wolfe and husband Larry of Dublin, VA; grandchildren, Richard Weikle and wife Anna, Lacey Shrewsbury and husband Matt, Amanda Shaver and husband Josh, Lelia “Indy” Bennett and husband A.J.; great grandchildren, Olivia Shrewsbury, Jaxson Shrewsbury, Alexandria Thomas, Jayden Thomas, Daniel Thomas, Azazel Shaver, Amethyst Shaver, Braxton Shaver, Kayleigh Bennett, Buddy Bennett, and Hunter Bennett; and many nieces and nephews.
Additionally, the family would like to extend a special thanks to Debbie Bradley, Sheena Charlton, Heather Taylor, Lisa Oliver, the Monroe County Council on Aging, and Mickey and the entire Payton Hospice House Family. JESUS LOVES YOU AND SO DO I.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, May 17, 2024, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV. Burial will follow at the Bradley Cemetery in Lindside, WV. Visitation will be held from 1:00PM until time of services on Friday at the funeral home.
