Collins, Zylphia Weeks
Zylphia Weeks Collins, 84, of Christiansburg, passed away Tuesday February 6, 2024.
She was a Montgomery Co. School bus driver for many years and finished her career at the Radford Army Ammunitions Plant. She was avid gardener enjoying nature. She loved holidays and decorating for them. She enjoyed spending time with her fur babies and at the beach. Zylphia was famous for her chicken n’ dumplings. Zylphia was preceded in death by her husband: Charles Collins; her parents: Charlie and Mae Belle Weeks; and sister: Nancy Ellen Weeks.
Survived by three children: Clint E. Collins (Catey), Daphne Rakes (Joe), Lurleen Collins (Kris Peter); grandchildren: Raymond Rakes (Amanda), Lauren Kate Collins, Erika Rakes (Thomas Klok), Natalie Rakes; great grandchildren: Abbie Newton, Asher Collins; Sister: Mary Sue Collins (Gaynor), and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday February 10, 2024, at 11 AM at Gardner Funeral Home with Pastor Roy Turpin officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Christiansburg, VA. The family will receive friends Friday February 9, 2024, from 6 until 8 PM at Gardner Funeral Home.
