Gilchrist, Carolyn Manuel
Carolyn Gilchrist, 67, of Pulaski died on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at her home. Truly a loving soul, who opened her home to even strangers in time of need. An open and brutally honest woman who was a pioneer to all who knew and loved her. She had a passion for all cats whether they were hers or strays.
Mrs. Gilchrist is known through out the community from her years of service to Jim’s Steakhouse and Wal Mart. She was always ready to help and give of herself. She loved with everything she had and cared for so many in her own ways and always known as a “wonderful friend”. Her personal motto was, “I loved you first!”
Born on March 14, 1956, to Daniel E. and Rebecca McPeak Manuel who preceded her in death. Left to cherish her memory, is her husband of thirty eight years, Patrick “Rick” Gilchrist and daughter, Margaret Thornton (Donnie) of Valparaiso, Florida. Grandchildren, Ivy Williams of Naples, Florida and Jacob Williams of Christiansburg and Ryan and Jesse Thornton, also of Valparaiso Florida. Great grandchildren, Dawn Williams, and Kaysen Patrick.
Carolyn is also survived by two brothers, Michael Manuel (Judy) and Daniel Manuel, both of whom reside in Pulaski.
Also mourning the loss of Carolyn, are her very special friends, Shirley Rigney and Teresa Andrews along with her Wal Mart family as well as a host of extended family and friends.
No formal services will be held. Instead, the family welcomes anyone who like to drop by to share a story and reflect on Carolyn’s life to visit at 108 Lake Street on Friday, December 22, between two o’clock and five o’clock (covered dish optional). Come as you are and be prepared to laugh as we all continue to share in her love.
