Linkous, David Montgomery

A lot can be said for a man that lives 89 years. He could pass on tales about growing up in Mullens West Virginia or working on the natural gas lines throughout the south or various life lessons he taught you.

But ultimately, it’s his love of life and family that makes him a man larger than life. Always up for a good time, always spoiling his children and grands and anyone else that would let him.

David Montgomery Linkous, known to some as “Fats” is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years Donna Lindsey Linkous. He leaves behind his three daughters and sons-in-law and son, who he always said gave him bragging rights. Lori (Rusty) Mitchell – GA, Shannon (Brian) Vaught – VA and Shellie (Donald) George – TN. Eddie (Susan) Williams, VA.

Dave loved more than anything his grandchildren, Daniel and Carah Mitchell, VA, Sarah Mitchell, GA and Lindsey, Oli and Max George, TN. The joy of his later life is the four great grands. Ulrich, Koen and Aven Mitchell and Emberlynn Martin. Also in his opinion, the best mother and sisters-in-law Dorothy Duncan and Vickie Mills and beloved nieces and nephews

Waiting for him were his parents Ulrich and Virgie Archer Linkous, five older brothers and two older sisters.

There were always three ways to do things; the right way, the wrong way and Dave’s way. He passed his way. Rest in Peace. There will be a memorial service to celebrate Dave at a later date. To sign David’s online guestbook, visit www.bowerfuneralhome.com
