Halliday, Larry Cecil

Larry Halliday was born on November 5, 1945 in Westville, Nova Scotia, Canada. He is the son of Emery and Earla Halliday. Larry and his family moved to Richford, Vermont on December 15, 1956. He passed away peacefully at home with his wife Kathryn Hartman Halliday at his side.

Larry entered the US Navy in 1964 and served for 4 years. He did one tour in Vietnam. He worked most of his life at IBM in Burlington, Vermont. He was an avid sportsman especially hunting and deep-sea fishing. He was most happy and proud to go fishing with his son “Little Larry” He was a great man with a huge heart.

He is survived by his wife Kathryn Hartman Halliday of Pulaski, Va., his son Larry Halliday II and wife Jacklyn of Gilbert, Arizona, his daughter Tina Marie and Paul Trimble of Austin, Texas. He also leaves his two grandsons Ty and Zack Trimble of which he was so very proud. His sisters Brenda and Paul Smith of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Muriel Savage of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Rosanne Savage of Burlington, Vermont and his brother Arvin and Julie Halliday of Westfield, Vermont; brother-in-law Alan Buchanan of Colchester, Vermont. He is also leaving several nieces and nephews and his little dog, Buddy.

He is preceded in death by his parents Arvin and Earla Halliday, a sister Jennie Buchanan. His brothers-in-law Allen and James Savage. A commitment service will be held at a later time at the convenience of the family.
