Croy, Anna Ross Brotherton

Anna Ross Brotherton Croy, 89 of Pearisburg passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at her home in Pearisburg, VA.  Mrs. Croy was born on July 9, 1917 in Pearisburg, VA and was a daughter of the late Rufus Haynes Brotherton & Essie May Johnston Brotherton.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Richard Croy, two sisters, Winnie Johnston and Sarah Lafon, one brother Jack Brotherton and one son-in-law, Dr. Maury C. Newton, Jr.

Mrs. Croy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pearisburg.

She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Pamela C. Newton of Marietta, GA, Priscilla C. and Phillip Morris of Pearisburg, one granddaughter, Kimberly C. Morris of Winston-Salem, NC, a special niece, Betty L. Kropff of Roanoke, one step granddaughter, Lucy Newton Maloney and two step great grandchildren, Ross Patrick and Bailey John Maloney.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 29, 2007 at 2:00pm at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with Dr. Fred L. Austin officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
