Shephard, Violet Virginia

Violet Virginia Shephard, 86 of Christiansburg, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, October 24, 2023. She was born on September 25, 1937 in Nebo, VA, and was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years; her parents; three brothers; and three sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Wilma (Daryl) of Christiansburg; granddaughter, Elizabeth of Roanoke; great-grandson, Shane. Violet is also survived by three brothers, four sisters; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and special friends that she met while working at Hubbell Lighting for over 20 years.

The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice for their amazing care and request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, your local animal shelter, St. Jude’s, or Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023, from 1-2 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 2 p.m. in the Chapel. Interment will be Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 11 a.m. in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
