Lafon, James Thomas

James Thomas “Tommy” Lafon, 83, of Christiansburg VA, passed away peacefully at his home on October 4, 2023. He was a postal carrier in Blacksburg for many years. He was the son of the late James Mason and Mary Kate Lafon. He was preceded in death by his two brothers Wayne and Willard Lafon.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jean Page Lafon and their three sons; Patrick Lafon of Radford, Phillip Lafon of Floyd, Brian and wife Amie Lafon also of Floyd. He is also survived by his sister Mary Elizabeth Sutphin of Salem, four grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. As per Tommy’s request there will be no funeral service.

A remembrance of Tommy’s life will be arranged at a later date. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Duke University Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospice and the many friends who helped during this difficult time.
