Mac loved Virginia Tech Football and was a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan. He often went to Virginia Tech games with his brother and sister-in-law and occasionally with his pastor and friend, Bobby Osborne. He also rooted for the Atlanta Braves. Incredibly enough, he could tell you most statistics for any football or baseball player and their wins and losses.
Mac loved children. Most of the pictures that were taken with Mac were with his nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Mac also helped in taking care of his mother while she was going though cancer and was there for her so he could be her ears, and eyes, as his mother did not hear well.
Mac loved the story of the prodigal son, Luke 15:11-24 and had spoken about knowing how that lost son must have felt when he himself was offered loving arms from his father and family when he had gone astray.
