Thornton, June Marie

June Marie Thornton, age 63 of Manassas, died Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at her residence. Mrs. Thornton was born Aug. 12, 1943 in Pulaski, Va. She was a member of the Toastmasters, the Prince William County Voting Commission and volunteered at the SERVE Homeless Shelter. The founder of the Manassas Swim Team, she also was a school bus driver for Prince William County.

Preceded in death by her brother Frank Early Brammer, survivors include her loving husband of 45 years, Terry L. Thornton; three sons, Gary Thornton, Chris Thornton, Jeff Thornton and his wife Amy all of Manassas; two grandchildren, Samantha Thornton and Jessica Thornton.

The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 15 at Lee Funeral Home, 8521 Sudley Road, Manassas, Va. and where funeral services will take place 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16. Interment to follow at Stonewall Memorial Gardens.
