Gautier, Bobby Lee

Bobby Lee Gautier, 87, of Rich Creek, Virginia, passed away at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital on August 3, 2023. Bobby was born in Pearisburg, Virginia on June 16, 1936, to Erselle Odessa Davis Gautier and Willie Ballard Gautier.

Bobby married Darlene Clemons and together they had four children, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He worked and retired from New River Castings in Radford, Virginia. He enjoyed farming, family time, and attending sporting and special events for his children and grandchildren. His family was his life. He was a retired member of the Rich Creek Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Peterstown Christian Church in Peterstown, West Virginia.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 62 years, Darlene Clemons Gautier; children, Wayne Gautier (Sherry), Sheri Smith (Todd), Lisa Young (Mark), and Cindy Gautier (Steve Chafin); grandchildren, Drew Smith (Hollie), Trevor Smith (Kayla), Haley Ferguson (Wes), Ethan Young, Matthew Gillispie (Kendal Sell), and Alex Gillispie (Reagan Martin); great grandchildren, Kieryn, Anduin, Emma and Easton Smith; sisters, Barbara Gautier and Shelley Spicer; and family friend Brian Gillispie.

He was predeceased by parents Willie and Erselle Gautier; brothers Rufus, Richard, Dan, Jimmy, Buster, David, and Billy; and sisters Beulah, Edna, Nancy, and Lois.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00PM on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel, located at 111 Market Street, Peterstown, WV 24963. Visitation with the family will be held from 4:00PM until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home.
