Neice, Artuis Kay
Artuis Neice, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2023, at her home in Pearisburg, VA. Born on March 28, 1961, in Virginia, she was a beacon of love and faith throughout her 62 years of life.
Artuis was a woman of deep spiritual conviction, whose life was a testament to the love and teachings of Jesus. Her devotion to her faith was evident in her daily life, as she found solace and strength in reading the Bible and engaging with her church community. She was a guiding light to all who knew her, embodying the words of Mother Teresa, “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”
Her love extended beyond her faith, touching the lives of her beloved family. Artuis’s legacy is carried on by her daughters, Alanna Davis of Pembroke, VA, and Deloris Hamlin and her husband Michael of Dublin, VA. She was a doting grandmother to Ashton, Cassiah, Navdia, Christopher, and Makala, who will miss her warm hugs and the delicious treats she loved to bake for them. Her siblings, Ricky Neice and his wife Kim, Tommy Neice and his wife Diane, Robbie Neice, Barbara Ann Carter and her husband Ken, Helen Walters and her husband Ricky, and Sue Chinault and her husband Don, will remember her as a pillar of strength and kindness. Artuis was predeceased by her beloved parents, Robert Lee Neice and Deloris Ann Martin Neice; her cherished son, Chris Davis; her brother, Paul Douglas Neice; and her infant brother, Stephen Neice.
Artuis’s passion for life was evident in her hobbies. She found joy in the simple pleasures of walking, watching the Food Network, and sharing her love for baking with those around her. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, laughter, and the aroma of freshly baked goods—a true reflection of her nurturing spirit.
Her brothers and sisters will reminisce about the times they shared, filled with Artuis’s laughter and wise counsel. She was a friend to many, always ready with a listening ear and a comforting word. Her numerous nieces, nephews, and friends will miss her dearly, but they find comfort in the knowledge that her influence will continue to resonate in their lives.
Artuis’s life was a journey of love, faith, and family. She walked through life with grace, leaving a trail of memories that will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her footprints on the sands of time are indelible, as she lived her life with purpose and kindness.
