Tozier, Enid Francis

Enid Francis Tozier, 85, formerly of Blacksburg, passed away May 10, 2007 in Thonotosassa, Fla.

She was a professor of clothing and textiles at Virginia Tech from 1966 to 1987. Enid served as a member of the board in the U.S. Department of Agriculture during the Nixon Administration where she did work with Cooperative State Research Service. She was appointed to the U.S. Department of Commerce Exporters Advisory Committee representing consumer interests. She was a consultant to several textile companies and many universities. In her 20 years of retirement, Enid spent her summers in Solon, Maine and winters in Thonotosassa, Fla.

A memorial service was conducted May 25, 2007 in Thonotosassa, Fla. Contributions in Enid’s memory may be sent to The Tozier Scholarship, c/o Regina Campbell, Ph.D., Superintendent, MSAD #74, P.O. Box 360, Anson, ME 04911. This perpetual scholarship will fund awards to high school graduates that attend institutions of higher learning, to continue Enid’s legacy as an educator.
