Turner, Dorothy Penn

Dorothy Jean Penn Turner 87 of Floyd, VA peacefully transitioned to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior, on Easter Sunday morning April 9th 2023, at home with her family by her side. “Jean,” as she was affectionally called, was born on October 31, 1935, to the late John and Beatrice Akers Penn.

She was united In Holy Matrimony to the late Adolph L. Turner, Sr. To that union they were blessed with four children, Cassandra L, Turner, Adolph L, Turner Jr. Bruce A. Turner, and Mark E. Turner (Judy). Grandchildren Christopher (Heather), Adam (Noriko), Jasmine (Adam), Corbin and Lauren. Great grandchildren Kotone, Leona, Mitsuki, Tre, Jolae, Mateo, Harper, and Lakely. And Granddog Apollo whom she called “pollo.” She was predeceased by two siblings William Penn and Margie Ingram. Surviving siblings, Pauline Ingram, Rose (Henry) Finney, Lois (Harris) Lemons, Mildred Majors, Daisy Penn. In addition to sisters-in-law Marva Turner, Pandora Harrigan, brothers-in-law Omer Turner, and Donnie (Rita) Turner, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on May 28th, 2023, at Mt. Zion Christian Church in Floyd, Virginia. Visitation will be from 1:30-2:30pm with service immediately following.
