CLAYTOR, Edgar Lee

Edgar L. Claytor, 91, of Radford, born May 20, 1914 to the late Ida and Sheilds in Floyd County, Va., passed away from a lengthy illness on Monday, February 13, 2006 at New River Valley Carilion Medical Center.

Edgar accepted Christ at a very early age and was a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church. He owned and operated his funeral business until his health failed.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Margaret S. Claytor; four sons, Michael T. Claytor (Sandra), Harold V. Claytor (Gladys), Vernon Lewis, Keith Randy Claytor; four daughters, Janet C. Miller, Renee C. King, Teresa C. Hubbard (Dwight), and Vonetta D. Claytor; one brother, Archie H. Claytor of Radford; one sister, Hazel Coles of Roanoke; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 18, 2006 at 12 noon at Zion Hills Baptist Church in Radford with the Rev. Charles H. Charlton and the Rev. Erric Ramey officiating. Burial in Highland Memorial Gardens in Dublin, Va.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 17, 2006 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Zion Hills Baptist Church, Radford, Va. Visitation at the funeral home will be Thursday, 3 to 8 p.m. Arrangements by Hughes Memorial Funeral Home, 3031 Radford Rd., Christiansburg, Va. 540-633-1000.
