Mayberry, Nell

Nell Stiles Huntington Mayberry, 88, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2007.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Clifford Huntington and Albert Mayberry. She is survived by sons, Bill, Tom and John Huntington and their families, Bill, of Lisbon, New Hampshire, partner Jackie, and children, Cliff, Lane and Hilary; Tom of Newcastle, Maine, wife Katie, and children, Asher, Peter, and Luke; and John, of Christiansburg, Virginia, wife, Joanne, and children Naomi, Natalie Chris, Oneida, Alyssa, and Maia.

She was revered by her children for her devotion and dedication to their upbringing and development. She graduated from Michigan State University in 1942, was married to Clifford in 1943, and was a remarkable homemaker for the rest of her life. She lived in Melbourne, Australia (where Tom was born), Rome, Italy (where John was born), and throughout the United States in her long and rich life.

She loved traveling and in her retirement enjoyed trips with Albert to England, Ireland, Scotland, Portugal, Greece, Russia, Sweden, Denmark, Ecuador, Columbia, and Panama. She made friends easily and enjoyed corresponding with them throughout the years. She sustained strong friendships with a special group of hometown friends through a “Round Robin Letter” which has been in constant circulation for almost 70 years.
