Stepp, Wanda Lorraine Blankenship

Wanda Lorraine Blankenship Stepp, 85, of Pepper Street, Christiansburg, Virginia, formerly of Mercer County, died peacefully Thursday evening, May 24, 2007, at the Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Born January 28, 1922, at Kegley, she was the daughter of the late Elliott and Pattie Worrell Blankenship. Mrs. Stepp graduated from Spanishburg High School and Bluefield Business College. She was a member of the Allegany Baptist Church in Blacksburg, Virginia. Mrs. Stepp was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, doing needlework and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis H. Stepp; along with two brothers, Carlyle Blankenship and E.J. Blankenship. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by two children, Barbara Rumburg and husband, Dr. Rondel Rumburg of Spout Spring, Virginia and Roger Stepp and wife, Barbara of Christiansburg, Virginia; five grandchildren, Beth Dunn, Sara Guill, Barry Stepp, Beverly Kruger and Rachel Tiller; nine greatgrandchildren and one sister, Elizabeth McCoy of Princeton.

On Monday, May 28, 2007, at 1 p.m., we will celebrate the life of Mrs. Stepp from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory, on Athens Road, Princeton, with her son-in-law, Dr. Rondel Rumburg officiating. Burial will follow in the Sarver Cemetery at Spanishburg. Friends may visit with the family, Monday, from 11 a.m. until the service hour.
