Caldwell, Elsie Hinkley

Elsie Hinkley Caldwell, 55, of Riner died, Saturday, May 26, 2007, at her home. She was born in Christiansburg, on November 7, 1951.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jessie Ernest Hinkley and her brother, Oscar Richard Ornelas. Elsie was a member of the Power of Deliverance Holiness Church.

She is survived by her husband, Brady Thomas (Tom) Caldwell, Riner; her mother, Nannie Smith Hinkley, Christiansburg; her son, Brady Thomas (Tom) Caldwell, Jr., Riner; two grandsons, Brandon Caldwell and Brian Caldwell; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Zelina Custer, Christiansburg, Jessie Ruth and Kelly Wyatt, Riner; a brother, Jimmy Hinkley, Dublin; her mother-in-law, Katherine G. Caldwell, Christiansburg; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Linda and R. H. Albert, McCoy, Glenna and David Whitt, Radford, Iris Caldwell, Durham, N.C. and Grace and Phil Speirer, Christiansburg; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Allen and Paula Caldwell, Radford; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thanks to all their neighbors, brothers, and sisters at the New Hope Church of God and the Power of Deliverance Holiness Church, for all their help and concern during Elsie’s illness.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 28, 2007, at 2 p.m., in the Power of Deliverance Holiness Church, with the Rev. Delores Shelton and the Rev. T. Michael Bond officiating. Interment will follow in the Altizer Cemetery, Riner. Friends may call anytime after 12 p.m., Sunday, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
