Whitt, Helen Baugh
Helen Baugh Whitt, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, while being cared for by the staff at Highland Ridge Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center.
Helen was a very well accomplished and successful woman. She was the very first person to be inducted into the Calfee Park Hall of Fame. An avid baseball fan and player. She played professional baseball with the Bloomer Girls in 1949. She loved and worshipped God at Dublin Baptist Church every opportunity she could until her health began to decline.
She was born to her parents, George Sheffey and Helen Doake Baugh on February 11, 1931, who preceded her in death as well as brother, George S Ball Jr. and Alfred L. Baugh.
Left to cherish her legacy are her two sons, William Boyd Whitt of Beckley West Virginia and his wife, Joyce along with Steven Duane Whitt of Dublin Virginia.
Grandchildren, Becky (Travis) Kiblinger of Crab Orchard West Virginia, Paula (David) Stahl of Midway West Virginia and Willie (Heather) Whitt of Beckley West Virginia.
Great grandchildren, Zachary Bryant Hamb, Abbygail Kiblinger, Aaron and Jacob Stahl, Haley, Isaiah and Cameron Whitt.
A beautiful great great granddaughter was born on January 5, 2023 named Avalynn.
Also surviving Helen is her brother, John Baugh of Washington DC, and his children, John Baugh, Jr. and Linda (Gary) Gillespie. Helen also leaves behind cousins and many friends that she cared about and loved greatly.
The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, January 10 at 10:00 in the morning at Dublin Baptist Church with funeral services beginning at 11:00. Allen Mahan officiating with interment following at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin.
