Smith, John (Junior)

John (Junior) Smith, 71, of Staffordsville, Va., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 17, 2007 at Giles Memorial Hospital.

He was born August 17, 1935 at McDowell County, W. Va. the son of the late John Ellis and Oma Baily Smith. Junior was a very gentle and kind man who was well liked by everyone.

He is survived by one sister, Dorothy Ruth Peyton, Radford; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Tommy Lindsey.

Graveside funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Staffordsville Cemetery, Staffordsville with the Rev. David Parr and the Rev. Sue Dodson-Walker officiating. Visitation will be Saturday at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations toward his funeral expenses would be appreciated.
