Smith, Alseberry Evins

Alseberry Evins Smith, of Christiansburg, passed from this life on Saturday May 5, 2007 at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center at the age of 90. He was preceded in death by his wife Clessie Gay Huff Smith, parents Alfred Cornelious and Icie Florence Smith, sisters Irene Duncan and Zola Williams, brother Edgar Lee Smith and an infant brother.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Michael E. and Sue C. Smith of Christiansburg; daughter and son-in-law Phyllis S. and Harold Hollandsworth of Christiansburg; granddaughter Diane H. and husband Tommy Smith of Virginia Beach; grandson Brian E. Smith of Fort Hood, Texas; great-granddaughter Annabella R. Smith of Virginia Beach; great-grandson “Bubby” of Virginia Beach; sisters and brothers-in-law Ila and Haven Reed, Martha and Bill Farmer, Alma Quesenberry, Mozell Phillips, Sue and Evans Quesenberry, Hobert Williams; brothers and sisters-in-law Loman and Lorraine Smith, Ray and Carrie Smith.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday May 8, 2007 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd, with Elder Kenneth Hopkins and Elder Tommy Pegram officiating. Interment will follow at Captain George Quesenberry Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Maberry Funeral Home.
