Ogle, Thomas Elroy

navyThomas Elroy Ogle, 86, of Pulaski, was called home by the Lord on Monday, January 13, 2014, after a long illness. He was born on July 18, 1927, in Wythe County and was the son of the late Marvin and Maggie Dean Ogle. He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Cecil and Bobby Ogle; and by three sisters, Maliada Ogle, Aileen Darnall and Josephine Atkinson. Elroy served in the United States Navy during World War II and retired from Sears, Inc. which at the time was located in Pulaski. Surviving are his loving wife of 63 years, Bea Kemp Ogle, of Pulaski; sisters, Lorraine Eure, of High Point, N.C., Opaleen Powers and her husband, Allen, of Pulaski, and Wanda Riggins and her husband, J.B., of Pulaski; brother, Garry Dean Ogle, of Max Meadows; sister-in-law, Gardella Ogle, of Max Meadows; special nephew, Ricky Riggins, of Dublin; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews; and many devoted friends. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2014, from the Pulaski Church of God-Refreshing Center with the Rev. Jerry Collins, the Rev. Perry Stone and the Rev. David Jarvis officiating. Burial will follow in the Ogle Family Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the Refreshing Center where the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pulaski Church of God-Refreshing Center, 1621 Bob White Blvd., Pulaski, Va. 24301.
