Wright, Thelma Stowers

Thelma Stowers Wright, 91 of Narrows passed away Wednesday, December 18th, 2013 at LewisGale Hospital Montgomery in Blacksburg. She was born in Giles County on July 15th, 1922, and was the daughter of the late Perry Hatcher and Stella Edith Steele Stowers. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Albert Wright; her son and daughter-in-law, William Jay and Patsy Smith Wright; a brother, Wayne Stowers; and a sister, Edith Corbelli. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and David Price of Blacksburg; a sister, Virginia Flynn of Vista, California; five grandchildren, Steve and Joy Price of Boone’s Mill, Wendy and John Honaker of Bedford, Stacey and Laura Wright of Roanoke, Kristi and Steve Baber of Powhatan, Virginia, and Derek and Julie Wright of Rocky Mount, Virginia; nine great-grandchildren whom she adored, Austin, Ryan and Katie Price, Hana and Lucas Honaker, Jordyn Wright, Jacob and Jared Wright, and Allison Parker; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 21st, 2013 at 11 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Narrows with Rev. Wayne Monroe and Rev. Jason Stubblefield officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery at Hollybrook in Bland County. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows Friday from 6 to 8 PM.
