GILBERT, Vivian Vaughan

Vivian Vaughan Gilbert, 82, of Radford, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2006. She had been a resident of Highland Ridge Rehab Center for the last 5 1/2 years.

Vivian was born in Radford, Va. on August 7, 1923. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Minnie A. Vaughan, a brother, Harvey Vaughan and her husband, Everette Gilbert.

She is survived by her sons, James E. Gilbert and wife, LuAnn of Dublin, Steven L. Gilbert of Riner; two brothers and their wives, Carlos and Frances Vaughan, Jr. of Richmond, Ralph and Gladys Vaughan of Radford; and two sisters, LaVerne and Clifton Lane of Florida and Gaye Clark of Kentucky. She is also survived by four grandchildren and four great-grandsons and a special cousin, Geneva Sutphin of Radford.

Vivian was a lifelong member of First Christian Church in Radford and she retired from Radford Amy Ammunition Plant with 38 years service.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2006 at the DeVilbiss Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gina Rhea officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, 400 Tyler Ave., Radford, Va. 24141. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2006 at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home, Radford.
