Good, Silas Preston
Silas Preston Good, 60, of Pearisburg, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 15, 2013. Silas was born on January 20, 1953, in Bluefield, W.Va. and was a son of Jewel Mann Good, of Rich Creek and the late Reuel H. Good. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Bobby Lee Dillon. Silas was a retired employee of the Celanese Corp. in Narrows, a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pearisburg, a member of the church Chancel Choir, a member of the Friends at 10 Sunday School Class and regularly attended Community Bible Study in Blacksburg. He was also an active parent/volunteer with the Giles Jets swim team since 1994 and was an active member of the Giles High School Band Boosters. His lifelong love of music was evident in his participation with the Chancel Choir and the Giles High School Band Boosters. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife of over 33 years, Priscilla Dillon Good, of Pearisburg; his mother-in-law, Gailya Dillon, of Ballard, W.Va.; two daughters, Lauren C. Good and husband, Seth Sauer, of Richlands, Courtney A. Good and fiance, Corey Ogden, of Pearisburg; one son, Ethan Silas Good, of the home; three grandchildren, Anyssa, Kyler, and Charlotte Sauer; one brother, William (Billy) Good and wife, Marguerite, of Pearisburg; three sisters-in-law, Teresa Callis and husband, Tracy, of Rich Creek, Allison Wikle and husband, Danny, of Longs, S.C., Melanie Mann, of Charleston, S.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, September 19, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church in Pearisburg with the Rev. Dr. Brian Birch officiating.
