Ratliff, Brenda Parks

Brenda Parks Ratliff, age 62, of Christiansburg died Monday, September 9, 2013, at her home. She was born in Bluefield, WV, on June 28, 1951, to the late Lonnie Lincoln and Esther Newasa Bailey Parks. A longtime resident of Christiansburg, she is survived by her husband, Roger L. Ratliff, of Christiansburg; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Brenda Pierce of Christiansburg and Chris and Erin Shaver, of Anchorage, AK; one daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Tom Lambert, of Salem; two grandsons, Cody Pierce and Finn Shaver; three granddaughters, Sydney Shaver, Kara Lambert and Kadence Lambert; two brothers, Billy Parks, of Cool Ridge, WV, and Lonnie Parks, Jr., of Columbus, GA; and two sisters, Ruth Stratton, of Apopka, FL, and Shirley Tomblin, of Titusville, FL. She is also survived by her father-in-law, Billy Ratliff, of Riner; brother-in-law, Gary Ratliff, of Shawsville; sister-in-law, Judy Jones and husband Joey, of Blacksburg; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and her beloved puppy Baylee. She was was preceded in death by two brothers, Garland Parks and Donald Parks, and one sister, Patsy Parks. The family would like to express sincere appreciation to Brenda’s closest friends Angela Shaver and Aunt Millie Ligon. The family would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. McCoy, Dr. Ojomo, and all the staff at Blue Ridge Cancer Care, as well as hospice nurse, Debra Kittinger. We also want to thank Brenda’s extended family at Wagner and Huber for all the love and support you provided to us all. Memorial services will be conducted Sunday at 2 pm in the Belmont Christian Church in Christiansburg with Mr. Beaver Terry officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Saturday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home in Blacksburg.
